MIDWEST JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a candidate with 5+ years sales experience with knowledge of potential customers in the Midwest.  The potential candidate must reside in Chicago,  The territory includes Indiana and Michigan, with limited service in Missouri and Wisconsin.   The Territory Manager will be responsible for identifying, cultivating, and maintaining relationships with existing and new accounts to generate profitable and sustainable business—an ability to work with customers to develop long-term solid business coupled with solid negotiating and sales skills.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the account manager for independent accounts in the territory responsible for the sell-in and sell-thru aspects of the business
  • Prospect for new business in those segments of the market which offer the most significant potential
  • Manage inventory, turn, and sell-thru’s in maximizing sales potential in the territory
  • Deliver training as required and assist in merchandising
  • Deliver and replenish merchandise materials ensuring proper product placements, maintenance, and brand compliance
  • Follow all guidelines and protocols for maintaining accounts and establishing new accounts
  • Regularly update account plans and objectives as appropriate to the sales potential of each customer and keep the SVP of Sales informed of the progress at each account
  • Maintain reporting guidelines as required by the SVP of Sales to include account profiles for all assigned accounts
  • Interact with distribution and sales support within the organization
  • Act as liaison for customers with our credit department
    • At times, be required to collect payment
  • Drive, including overnight travel, as necessary to serve assigned accounts and territory
  • Keep adequately informed on all MGI products and services
  • Provide call itineraries / monthly schedule/manage expenses

  • Experience in Sales Call planning
  • Multi-tasking ability
  • Experience in Prospecting strategies
  • Strong presentation skillset for training
  • Highly developed selling, customer relations, and negotiation skills
  • Take charge attitude with teamwork and collaboration
  • Extremely flexible and able to adjust to changing business needs and responsibilities
  • Knowledge of customer’s business
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and SFA Applications
  • Excellent verbal, presentation, and written communication skills
